Dear Neena

(Big girl! at 2 months)

Dear Neena,

Happy 2 months to you! I can't believe you are already 2 months old--my how time has flown! You have your 2 month appointment tomorrow and I cannot wait to see how big you've gotten. Here's a list of all the things you can do now:

1. Smile, and you do this lots and lots and we LOVE it!
2. Tell lots of stories by cooing and cawing. And, you love singing with mommy when she sings silly songs. :-)
3. Stick out your tounge. You love sticking it out at mommy when she is sticking her tounge out at you.
4. Keep your head up while on your tummy. You're such a strong girl!
5. Sit in your Bumbo
6. Follow objects and people with your eyes
7. You have discovered your hands and feet and your are completely enamored by them, I thimk you could play with them for hours
8. And, I swear we are hearing the beginnings of a giggle!!!

You got to see Grandma and Grandpa Riggs and Grandma and Grandpa Larson this weekend--they all love you so, so, so much. And, this coming weekend you are taking your first airplane trip to Florida to see Grandma and Grandpa Carr, Aunt Nicole, Aunt Chelsea, and Uncle Trevor. I hope you're as excited as mommy and daddy are.

Love,

Mommy

Dear Neena

Dear Neena,

This weekend we travelled to Cedar Falls, Iowa with Grandma and Grandpa Larson for a wedding shower. While we were in Cedar Falls we stayed with Great Grandma and Grandpa Ehlers--they were soooooo excited to meet you! You were such a good baby; you smiled and told everybody lots of stories. I think everybody was quite smitten for you. :-)

You were so excited you didn't want to think. You kept mommy and daddy up for most of Saturday night. You weren't crying or fussing, you just didn't want to sleep. Who could blame you? You were having such a good time meeting lots of people and playing with your grandmas.

Last week you discovered that you can stick your tounge out at mommy and daddy and you get such a kick out of it-- you always have the biggest grin on your face. You also like it when mommy pretends her fingers are bee and she buzzes it around you and lands on your nose or cheeks then you explode into cute little baby smiles and tiny giggles.

Today we had our first Mommy and Baby yoga class and we had lots of fun with the other babies and mommies. You weren't quite sure of everything at first, but after I nursed you for a bit you perked right up and got the hang of things. I'm so proud of you!

Love you lots,my smiley girl. :-)

Dear Neena (a day late)

Dear Neena,

As I type this you are sleeping peacefully in your swing that you love so much. Every morning after you wake up and nurse you fall back to sleep at my breast and I place you in your swing where you doze for a couple hours while mommy eats her breakfast and picks up the house. You must dream the sweetest dreams because every once in awhile you'll serenely smile, and that makes mommy smile.

You're almost 7 weeks old, my how time has flown. In the past 7 weeks we have gotten to know each other quite well; we cuddle, we smile at eachother, we read lots and lots of books, we sing, we dance, we stroll through the mall (because it's too cold to stroll outside), and we nurse. I'm so in love with you. I look forward to the time to come, but sometimes I wish I could freeze time and have it be like this for a bit longer.

This last weekend Grandma and Grandpa Riggs came to visit you and take care of you while Mommy and Daddy had a date night. You were such a good girl for Grandma and Grandpa, but Mommy and Daddy were anxious to get home to see you; it's hard to be away from your sweet face. Mommy and Daddy had lots of fun on their date, though. We went to a concert and listened to good music. I can't wait to take you to your first concert so you can jam out with us!

Love,

Mommy
